My painting 'Broken' (acrylic on canvas, 36x36") was selected as a finalist for 2019's Art Comes Alive competition in Cincinnati. The competition is international and juried, and the exhibit will hang from October 5 through December 6.
In March of 2019, I had my first solo show in 10 years. Entitled 'Duality', the exhibit was held at Craft(s) Gallery in downtown Louisville. The exhibited work included canvases from my 'Variations' series, plus some expressionist work. As explained in my artist statement for the show,"While working on the ‘Variations’ canvases, I occasionally found myself rebelling against the discipline required to render straight lines and corners every time I approached my easel. I cut loose with some freeform, spontaneous abstract paintings that are hanging with the geometric ones. They’re all part of the same process." Here are some photos from the opening:
