Before we sign a contract, here’s what you need to know.
Please be sure you're familiar with my style and palette.
I prefer to work with no time constraints, but if you need the portrait by a date certain, we can make it work.
I don't work in a dimension shorter than 30 inches, unless the portrait is of one pet only.
If you want the portrait to be completed in oil on canvas, you can choose the type stretchers used for the canvas, e.g., 1.5” gallery-wrapped (which won’t require a frame, and the stretchers will be painted a complementary color) or ¾” (which can be framed). For the former, my signature will appear on the side of the left stretcher, as seen in the image below. On the latter, my signature will appear on the front of the painting, much more subtly.
The more intricate the portrait, i.e., presence of hands, furniture, etc., the higher the price. Ditto for any changes the buyer wishes to make before or after completion of the portrait.
I work from photographs, and I will take pictures of the subject, unless there is already a photograph of the subject I can work from and/or you live too far away. When presented with more than one photo option, the choice of the image I use is up to me.
The buyer will receive a copy of the image I choose, in the dimension ratio of the canvas to be used, along with a price quote. One-half of the purchase price will be due as a deposit upon the signing of the contract. I will not begin the portrait until the deposit is received.
The buyer will receive images of the portrait’s progress at least once a month.
Any questions? Email is the quickest way to reach me: timmonsart@outlook.com. Thanks for reading all this!
