Spring is almost here! I didn't realize, until the weather turned nice for several days in a row, how difficult the winter had been. And I like winter. There's lots of birdsong in the mornings now, and that always brings joy to my heart. I captured this noble beastie near our bird feeder the other day. I guess we should consider moving the buffet.

Solo Show

I have another solo show scheduled for next year at KORE Gallery in Louisville. The show is entitled Fire+Ice, and the paintings will be of wildfires and glaciers. Before I started researching images of wildfires, I had no idea of their prevalence in parts of the world we wouldn't think would be affected. Indeed, one of the paintings is entitled Wildfire: Siberia. Mountain glaciers provide freshwater to almost 25% of the world's population, so their rapid disappearance is frightening, to say the least. This is a work in progress: Wildfire: Singapore.

Big sale

Two pieces that were on corporate loan sold last December. Both were in my solo show Out on a Limb. Not only did these works find a great home, but they constituted my largest sale to date. Fantastic way to end the year.

New gallery

I'm very happy to have my work on exhibit at Art@106, a new gallery in New Castle, Kentucky, and the home of the Henry County Arts & Craft Guild. My Flower Head Ladies have been a hit, so there are prints and cards featuring them at the gallery.
